Savings for Every Child is a long-term savings program run by the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi). The program page explains it in full; this guide sums up the main points.

Who it is for

The program opens a personal savings plan for every child who is entitled to child allowance, until the child turns 18. The savings are held in a provident fund or a bank, as the parents choose.

How much is deposited

According to the program page, Bituach Leumi deposits ₪58 a month into each child's savings, and parents can add another ₪58 a month from the child allowance, for a total of ₪116 a month (amounts from 01.01.2026). As of 2 November 2026; check the source, because amounts are updated.

Choices parents make

  • Where the money is held: a provident fund or a bank. The program page links to the process for each.
  • Whether to add the parents' deposit from the child allowance.
  • The investment track, according to the options the fund or bank offers.

Following the savings

  • The fund or bank that manages the savings sends a yearly report on the deposits and returns. The program page says the report is sent by 1 March.
  • Questions about the balance, the withdrawal dates and similar matters go to the provident fund or bank that manages the savings.

Beware of paid help

The program page warns that some private parties offer, for a fee, to help withdraw the savings. You can deal with the fund or bank directly.

How Woofi fits in

Woofi keeps a place for each child's savings in your family's overview and links to the official page. It does not show balances or projections unless you upload the fund's report, and it does not choose a fund or track for you.
